Admission to MBA shall be open to the holder of any first Bachelor's degree of a University established by law in India, at least with 50% marks (45% marks in the case of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates)
OR
The degree of a foreign University which may be recognised as equivalent for the purpose by the Vice-Chancellor with such conditions as he may impose regarding the additional courses of study, which the candidate would be required to pass to qualify for the degree.

Please Note:

• The candidate applying for MBA are required to remit non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 200/- in the shape of DD/IPO to be drawn in favour of Director (ICDEOL), H. P. University, Shimla along with prescribed admission form. The admission forms not accompanied with processing fee shall summarily be rejected. Unless the admission of the candidate is finalized, the candidates are advised not to remit regular fee of the course at the time of applying for admission.
• A student having compartment /reappear in Bachelor's Degree shall not be eligible for admission to MBA.
• As number of seats have been restricted to 200, the admission shall be made on the basis of merit at the qualifying examination. In case of tie, the same shall be resolved as per University Rules. 120 points prescribed roster for admission shall be applicable for SC/ST/PH categories.

Immediately after its establishment in 1970, the Himachal Pradesh University took a bold step towards proliferation of knowledge and democratisation of educational opportunities by setting up a Directorate of Correspondence Courses in 1971. The University has played a pioneering role in launching the programme of distance education at the postgraduate level. It was the first to impart instruction at postgraduate level in social-sciences, humanities, commerce and teacher training through the mode of distance education. Research studies at M.Phil. level were also introduced through this medium in the various disciplines. Over the years, the Directorate of Correspondence Courses moved towards absorbing the emerging philosophy of distance education and adopting multi-media approach to impart instruction. In view of this, the Directorate of Correspondence Courses has now been rechristened as the International Centre for Distance Education and Open Learning (ICDEOL). It is located in the H.P. University complex at Summer Hill, a suburb at the western end of Shimla, 5 Km from the main town. Summer Hill Railway Station is a 5 minutes walk from the ICDEOL complex.
